A very nice and refreshing walk along the beaches of St.Marina in Attica part of the Athens Riviera. The walk commenced at the popular beach of Lombarda, continued to the area of the WWII German Military Outpost and along the coast of Aghia Marina (St.Marina) headed to the accesible islet of Dounis , Althea beach and the deserted now, once popular big hotel of Althea. Subsequently, the direction was back to the starting point , having created a walk loop. Overall a beautiful and interesting walk for a hot sunny Sunday afternoon.

Walking

1. Dounis island can be reached by walking as the sea there is not deep. 2. Have splash in the sea or taste the Greek delicacies at the coastal tavernas but remember that the beach of the Athenian Riviera are very crowded. 3. Have a look at the WWII German fortifications near Lombarda Beach but please be warned that you might meet also some nudists. 4. The installations of the abandoned Althea Resort have become ideal ground for urban explorers, ghost hunters and graffiti artists.
