Surveyed the central section of the Pueblo Canon greenbelt. This is the section with tread widened to ~36". Parked on Ave Vista Grande by the RR tracks, hiked south, then west and around Pueblo Canyon back tot he RR. Notes:
- Generally a very pleasant set of trails. Saw two bicyclists, a couple of hikers & dog walkers.
- The fence along the railroad track has numerous locations where the fence is damaged. Also lots of piles of barbed wire. I don't know who has responsibility to maintain the fence. The loose barbed wire should be removed, it's a significant liability issue.
- Bird houses need maintenance. Clean out, repair the predator guards.
- Signage could use maintenance, everywhere.
- 36" trail could use grading in several sections. But a nice width.
- Milage markers need more thought. Basically indicates where you are on the loop.
- Connectors to adjacent trails are not obvious on the ends.
It's nice to see a trail in the Greenbelt that is better positioned and wider.
