This is a very good ride I recommend going up Arrowhead road. When you take the trail 90% of it will be a steady downhill ride. Also 90% of it is suitable for all riders but the other 10% is challenging in spots. I would not recommend young or inexperienced riders to take this ride. We started out from Cooks Corner, You can access our trail from IMHC by leaving behind the horse barn towards VHT, and once in the woods taking a left which carries you around the back of the pasture beside the horse camp. This will tie you back into Arrowhead road a good ways up the mountain. If ANY part of this section challenges your abilities turn left, go back towards the camp and ride a moderate trail. Not trying to discourage anyone but this is a trail for cool to cold weather, horses have no access to water once you start up the mountain for at least 2 hours, and they have some tough traveling ahead of them. If you are up to it, it is a very enjoyable and a pretty ride, especially after the trees have started changing and losing there leaves. If you are an experienced rider, this is your trip, has everything you are looking in a good ride. When you get to the bottom of the mountain you can take a right and go into Hungry Horse camp or continue on marked trail and find horses water within a few hundred yards before crossing the highway. There is a second water spot just prior to Hugo Meadows after you pass Mike’s gap.
