Ilja-san (Mt.) Hiking

From the Police Hospital Station to Gangdong Greenway Camping Site, you can lightly hike along a mountain trail. It takes one hour to finish your hiking and you only walk up for 100 meters though its height is 140 meters. It's ideal course for a beginner or senior person with a pair of weak knees. The first trail you take is close to the exit 3 of the station and is installed a public toilet. Walk along the trail laid down the mountain side until you reach the playgrounds where the sign post is showing "Recuperational Forest Trail" to the right side. Here is the 2nd trail, you take a hike up the valley trail to the low saddle between mountain hills. On the way of the saddle, you can pause at a water fountain to wash your hand. From the saddle, it's so good to walk straight along the trail on top of the ridge. When you walk and reach the saddle where a signpost is noticed with Daesa-gol (Valley), you stop to go straight and hike down to the valley trail till you find the cross trail point indicated as Daesa-gol to the right side. The third trail is started from the cross point where you walk straight and not turn right to the valley road. It's also good to walk on the trail laid on an another small hill and hike down to the Gangdong Camping Site. Quite a big restaurant is so near here that you can have a meal. Near the station, a bakery cafe is available to chat.

Hiking/Backpacking

It is not good to use a public transportation at the descending point. But it's not far to be back to the Police Hospital Station along the road or the lowest trail of that mountain.
