Coincidently the same day 6 years ago, also on a Father's Day, I summited Mount Rainier. Maybe I will try a significant objective next year on Father's Day to extend my luck. Trip stat: 16.4 mi, 7300 ft gain c2c, 19 hours 40 minutes Schedule: Saturday morning 7:30am: obtain climbing permit at white river ranger station Saturday evening: car camp at Whiteriver campground Sunday 1:25am: alpine start at Summerland TH 5:30am: rope-up to cross Fryingpan Glacier 8:30am: start crossing Whitman Glacier 9:30am: start the last steep snow scramble to the summit block and then the class 3/4 rock scramble 1:40pm: reached the Little T. summit.
